Jacquesson

It is in the Marne, and more precisely in the town of Dizy, that champagne Jacquesson is located. Even if the Jacquesson domain exists since the end of the XVIII century, it was until 25 years ago, after the place was bought by the Chiquet brothers, that the recipe which makes this domain popular was made: a traditionalist vision based especially on the respect of the ground and separate vinification of lots. It is not strange that the Jacquesson house sells all or part of the juice extracted from the grapes, when its result is not satisfactory. Yet, behind this face full of tradition, Jacquesson champagne is famous for its innovative range: 700 vintages. The principle is to make a blend that is two thirds of a particular vintage.

This gives its white wines an exceptional aging potential. The whole benefits from a vinification in oak barrels, in order to let the wine breathe. In total, the 40 hectares of the Jacquesson house produces around 275 000 annual bottles. This same territory can boast of being between three large domains, which helps to its notoriety (Aÿ, Dizy and Hautvillers). The slopes are oriented towards the east, south and southwest with an exceptionally calcareous terrain.
