Wine estate located at Saint-Julien and extending over more than 250 hectares, the château Beychevelle has an history dating back more than 5 centuries. It is a jewel of French classicism and its power was such in the region during the 17th century that ships passing by lowered their sails as a sign of allegiance to the Duke of Epernon, Grand Amiral of France and owner of the castle at this time which gave it the origin of his name that meant "Low Sails", litterally translated "Beychevelle" in old french language. Renovated several times in history, this estate is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful castles and parks of the region of Bordeaux.

The vines are old an average of 30 years with a high density of 10 000 vines/ha. The castel Beychevelle is classified 4th great growth in the 1855's classification and has a classical Saint-Julien grape variety which reflects all the elegance and the finesse of this prestigious terroir. Its great complexity and aromatic richness make render an excellent wine to keep for several decades.

The château Beychevelle is now joint property of Castel Group and the Japanese Group "Suntory".
